German-Swiss company Liebherr has been providing versatile construction vehicles, mobile cranes and commercial vehicles since the 1950s. Above all, the innovative Series TK 10 mobile cranes turned Liebherr into one of the world’s most popular brands. Today, successful models such as Liebherr 26 H, 32 TT and 22 HM with hook heights up to 20 metres can be found on construction sites around the world. The LTM series of telescoping cranes are one of the current market leaders.

Düsseldorf mobile crane manufacturer Gottwald, now a part of Demag, also enjoys an equally good reputation. This manufacturer primarily makes mobile cranes and transport solutions for use in ports. Used, older Gottwald mobile crane models are highly sought after on the market due to their high quality and durability. These include the AMK series for heavy transport and the Gottwald AMK 1000, the first telescoping crane that could lift more than 1,000 tonnes.

World-Renowned Mobile Crane Manufacturers

Faun mobile cranes also used around the world. The company from Pegnitz in northern Bavaria is now owned by Japanese company Tadano and manufactures special automotive and mobile cranes and military vehicles for lifting and transport operations. From the 1960s, Faun has built a wide range of mobile cranes that are still in use for transporting heavy loads in construction, forestry and other industries.

Based in Zweibrücken, TEREX makes mobile cranes for a wide range of purposes with capacities from 30-3,200 tonnes. Primarily three types of crane are still produced – lorry-mounted cranes that can handle loads between 30 and 70 tonnes, military cranes for the terrain and lattice-boom crawler cranes that can carry between 300 and 3,200 tonnes. These models are used to transport heavy loads, in bridge and high-rise construction, excavation and to build wind turbines.
